Certificate in Menopause Awareness, Support & Advocacy
This programme is suitable for anyone with an interest in the menopause transition, whether through personal experience, professional practice or a desire to better support others. It's designed for women at any stage of the menopause transition, as well as partners, family members, friends, unpaid carers, and anyone seeking a greater understanding.
This workshop provides accessible, evidence-informed education on the physical, emotional, cognitive and social aspects of the menopause transition. Participants will develop a deeper understanding of the changes that occur as well as practical strategies to support wellbeing. Participants will gain the confidence to have informed and supportive conversations about menopause.
This workshop is available for group bookings and suitable for community groups, women's groups, peer support networks, voluntary organisations and others with an interest in learning more about the menopause transition and those supporting it.
Certificate in Menopause Health, Wellbeing & Inclusive Practice
Suitable for those working in healthcare, health education, social care practitioners, women's health care advocates, addiction and recovery support workers & volunteers, youth & family service staff, Traveller health workers, primary health care workers, migrant and refugee support workers, disability support staff, housing and homelessness personnel, prison & probation services staff, employee assistance professionals, level 5 & 6 carers.
This programme explores the impact of the menopause transition on physical health, mental health, confidence, relationships, employment and social participation. This programme supports organisations in the implementation of the Civil Service Menopause in the Workplace Policy Framework through practical, evidence-based, government-aligned strategies and supportive workplace practices.

Suitable for all public facing roles where communication, service engagement, service delivery, emotional labour and interpersonal effectiveness are central to everyday practice. This programme provides participants with an evidence-based understanding of the menopause transition and its impact on physical, emotional, cognitive and emotional wellbeing. Participants develop the knowledge and confidence required to recognise and identify menopause-related changes & challenges, allowing them to provide person-centred support for their clients within the scope of their professional practice.
Certificate in Menopause Support in Residential and Community Care
Suitable for professionals, staff, volunteers and managers working in residential supported living and community care settings, including health care assistants, social care workers, support workers, key workers, care coordinators, residential care staff, disability support staff, home support workers, personal assistants, day service staff, community support workers, family support workers, housing support staff, community health care teams, and those involved in the care and support of adults within residential and community based settings.
This programme provides participants with an evidence-based understanding of the menopause transition. Participants develop the knowledge and confidence to recognise menopause-related challenges.
Particular consideration is given to supporting women living in residential care, supported living and other care settings where menopause may be overlooked, misunderstood or difficult to communicate. The programme promotes person-centred, rights-based and inclusive approaches to menopause care, enabling participants to better support the dignity and quality of life of the women they serve.
Certificate in Workplace Menopause Education and Facilitation
Suitable for trainers, facilitators, coaches, consultants, educators, learning and development professionals, corporate training providers, adult educators, and those responsible for delivering workplace learning programmes.
This programme equips participants with the foundational knowledge, confidence and skills required to deliver evidence-informed menopause awareness education in workplace, community and educational environments. Participants develop an understanding of menopause, its cause and effects.
It is suitable for both experienced trainers and those who are new to education delivery and wish to develop the knowledge, skills and qualifications required to progress towards delivering menopause education professionally. Serving as a foundation programme, it provides a progression pathway to a Diploma in Workplace Menopause Education and Facilitation. Successful completion of which enables participants to meet the qualification and insurance requirements necessary to deliver menopause education and training programmes within corporate, public sector, educational and community settings.
Following successful completion of this programme, participants may avail of ongoing guidance and support from the Irish Menopause Institute in the development, implementation and review of menopause-inclusive workplace policies, procedures and support frameworks. This continued professional support enables participants and organisations to translate learning into practice, helping to create informed, inclusive and supportive workplace environments that align with current best practice in menopause awareness and workplace wellbeing.
Menopause Practitioner Diploma
The Irish Menopause Institute Menopause Practitioner Diploma is designed for people who want to understand menopause transition and support women with clarity, confidence and care.
The programme provides practical, evidence-based learning that can be applied in real-world settings. It is suitable for professionals and individuals who work with, support or advocate for women during menopause transition.
With education at its core, the Diploma reflects our mission to raise standards of understanding and support across healthcare, workplaces, communities and everyday life.
Who is the programme for?
This programme is suitable for people working in:
- Healthcare, including nurses, healthcare assistants, pharmacy teams and allied professionals
- Human resources and workplace wellbeing
- Health, fitness, nutrition and complementary therapy
- Community, education and support services
- Women’s health, advocacy or support roles
A QQI Level 5 qualification in Healthcare Support, or similar experience, is helpful but not essential.
Programme Structure
The programme is designed to be structured, flexible and achievable. It allows learners to balance study with work and personal commitments. The programme includes:

Explore anatomical changes, skin health and the physical effects of ageing during menopause transition.
Hormonal Patterns, Metabolism & Endocrine Imbalance
Learn about hormonal fluctuations, metabolism and common imbalances experienced during transition.
Psychosocial, Cognitive & Sexual Health
Understand the emotional, cognitive, relational and sexual health aspects of menopause and their wider impact.
Lifestyle Medicine & Physical Health
Explore practical lifestyle approaches that support physical health, wellbeing and symptom management.
Hormone Therapy & Medical Management
Gain an overview of medical approaches, including hormone therapy and key clinical considerations.
Complementary & Integrative Approaches
Explore supportive therapies within a safe, evidence-informed framework for menopause care.
Professional Practice & Consultation Skills
Develop communication skills, consultation approaches and the ability to work effectively within a support network.

Assessment
Assessment is continuous throughout the programme. Learners will complete practical and reflective tasks linked to each module.
A final practical assessment, including a supported role-play, will allow learners to demonstrate their readiness for practice with guidance from an experienced multidisciplinary team.
