Flexible Learning: Saturday modules may be attended face-to-face in UCD or watched later as a recording. Tuesday evening online sessions must be attended live. Assessments and designated practical sessions require face-to-face attendance.

Upon successful completion of the programme, you will receive:

  • Advanced Diploma in Menopause Practice, Education & Corporate Training (IMI 01), accredited by the Irish Menopause Institute, AIT (Association of Irish Therapists) and the CPD Standards Office, with QQI validation in progress

  • Membership of the Irish Menopause Institute Professional Framework
  • Recognition of your learning as Continuing Professional Development

This distinctive qualification combines specialist menopause practice with professional education and training skills. It prepares graduates to work directly with clients, deliver trusted menopause education and provide structured training across workplaces, communities, healthcare, education and private practice.

As an IMI Certified Menopause Educator, you will be eligible to deliver designated Irish Menopause Institute Diploma and Certificate programmes, approved CPD training, corporate workshops and structured education programmes.

The delivery of IMI-approved education must remain within the Irish Menopause Institute Professional Framework, ensuring that programmes are delivered consistently and in accordance with the Institute's educational, professional-practice and quality-assurance standards.

Individuals with no previous professional or academic background in menopause education who wish to develop and build a career in menopause support, education and delivery.

It is suitable for those who wish to work directly with clients, deliver professional menopause education and training, or build a specialist service within healthcare, workplaces, communities, education or private practice.

No previous menopause-specific or medical knowledge is required. The programme begins with the essential foundations and progressively develops advanced understanding across the physical, psychological, lifestyle and social aspects of menopause, alongside professional practice, adult education and training delivery.

  • Qualify as an IMI Certified Menopause Practitioner and IMI Certified Menopause Educator

    Explore anatomical changes, skin health and the physical effects of ageing throughout the menopause transition.

    Hormonal Patterns, Metabolism & Endocrine Imbalance

    Learn about hormonal fluctuations, metabolism and common imbalances experienced during the menopause transition.

    Psychosocial, Cognitive & Sexual Health In Menopause

    Understand the emotional, cognitive, relational and sexual health aspects of menopause and their wider impact.

    Lifestyle Medicine & Physical Health In Menopause

    Explore practical lifestyle approaches that support physical health, wellbeing and symptom management.

    Hormone Therapy & Medical Management

    Gain an overview of medical approaches, including hormone therapy and important clinical considerations.

    Develop professional communication, consultation and referral skills and learn how to work effectively within a multidisciplinary support network.

    Effective Training Practice

    Explore how adults learn and the factors that influence effective training, including trainer responsibilities, learning styles, group dynamics, inclusive practice and the creation of a positive learning environment.

    Training Delivery Skills

    Develop the practical skills to plan and deliver engaging training using clear learning objectives, appropriate methodologies, professional communication, participant engagement and effective learning resources.

Assessment, Feedback & Evaluation

Assessment is continuous throughout the programme.

Learners will complete practical, written and reflective tasks linked to the programme modules. They will also learn how to assess learning, provide constructive feedback and evaluate the effectiveness of a training intervention.

A final practical assessment, including a supported role-play and training-delivery element, will allow learners to demonstrate their readiness for professional practice and education.

Learners must:

  • Attend a minimum of 80% of scheduled teaching
  • Achieve a minimum mark of 60% in each assessment
  • Successfully complete all required practical, written, reflective and final assessments
