Better Understanding. Better Practice. Better Outcomes.
The menopause transition can influence physical health, mental wellbeing, cognition, sleep, musculoskeletal health, nutrition, sexual health, workplace performance and the overall experience of care.
For allied healthcare professionals, understanding this transition is increasingly relevant to delivering informed, appropriate and person-centred support.
The Irish Menopause Institute CPD – Allied Healthcare Menopause Specialist Award has been developed to translate menopause knowledge into the realities of individual professional practice.
Rather than offering generic menopause education, each specialist CPD award focuses on a specific professional area, helping participants understand what menopause means for the women they work with and how that knowledge can inform better practice.
Developed by a Multidisciplinary Team of Experts
Each programme is developed and delivered by a multidisciplinary team of experienced professionals and subject-matter experts, bringing together clinical, healthcare, education and specialist practice perspectives.
Course content is informed by current evidence, recognised guidance and professional best practice, with materials reviewed to support accuracy, relevance and consistency.
This multidisciplinary approach ensures participants are not learning about menopause through a single professional lens. Instead, they develop a broader understanding of the menopause transition and how different areas of health and wellbeing can interact.
Specialist Knowledge for Your Area of Practice
The award considers menopause through the lens of the relevant profession, combining evidence-based knowledge with practical application.
On completion, participants will be better equipped to:
- Recognise how the menopause transition may present within their area of practice.
- Understand the wider physical, psychological and social factors influencing a woman's experience.
- Ask more informed and relevant questions.
- Respond with greater confidence and professional clarity.
- Apply menopause knowledge appropriately within their professional scope.
- Identify when further assessment, referral or multidisciplinary support may be appropriate.
- Communicate more effectively with clients, patients and other healthcare professionals.
From Knowledge to Meaningful Impact
A better understanding of menopause can change the quality of the professional interaction.
It can help practitioners recognise what might otherwise be missed, understand the wider context behind a presenting issue and provide women with more informed, connected and appropriate support.
The result is more than additional CPD knowledge.
It is the potential for better conversations, stronger professional practice and more meaningful outcomes for women.
Supporting the Future of Women's Health
Building menopause knowledge across healthcare and allied healthcare professions supports a wider move towards earlier recognition, prevention, informed choice and more integrated women's healthcare.
By strengthening menopause capability across multiple professional disciplines, we can help create a future in which women are understood more comprehensively throughout the menopause transition, rather than individual symptoms being considered in isolation.
Complete the specialist menopause award relevant to your professional discipline and develop menopause knowledge that can be applied directly within your existing practice.
Setting the standard across menopause education.
